What keeps me coming back for more is the pride I feel when we connect with people. When we truly understand a client’s goals, desires and questions and then craft a project that provides the answers, it doesn’t get any better. My most important role is finding those rare people who have the combination of empathy, listening ability and technical competence in their field and then coaching and supporting them to get ever better.
Outside of work my life revolves around being a good partner to my wife and a good father (including dog dad), son, brother and friend.

I’ve been with Highland Design + Build since we opened in 2005. I’m one of the lucky folks who love their job. I enjoy combining my design and project development experience to guide my clients seamlessly from initial ideation through design, budgeting and detailing a project that truly meets their needs.
There is a beginning and an end with much focus and determination in the middle. It is about the people rather than the project.
A Birmingham native, Jennifer joined Highland Design + Build with nine years of sales experience plus 2 years of kitchen and bath remodeling. With a BA in Studio Art from the University of Alabama, Jennifer enjoys the design aspect of her job. Her outside interests are varied; Jennifer enjoys playing the guitar, music, golf and illustration work. She also likes spending time with family and friends and traveling.

After spending 10 years in corporate banking I took the plunge and followed my passion for design; the field where I earned my college degree. What I truly enjoy about what I do is creating a design that looks and feels good and also making it efficient for the client.
As a designer at Highland Design + Build, I am responsible for taking the clients’ existing space and preparing design options that fit their expectations and budget. After choosing a final layout, I guide them in selecting materials and finishes for their dream space. I collaborate with other designers on my team as well as construction professionals in the field to ensure our clients receive the full design experience with expert advice.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my 2 kids, staying active and discovering local food spots.
I’ve been with Highland Design + Build since 2012.To me, helping clients implement their unique style is what design work is all about. Aesthetic sense is important but listening and patience are equally important because a client’s style is revealed in how he/she responds to plans, ideas and materials.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my two fur-babies, spending time outdoors and working on my own personal home.

I have been Office Manager at Highland Design + Build for 7 years. I have worked extensively in retail and in bookkeeping in the trades industry.
I love to read, do crossword puzzles and spend time with my family.
